St Patrick’s In Nature
Good Evening. I know that this blog post is a little more on the late side. Unfortunately I was sick and just had no energy to build a beautiful post for the week. So why not make it for St Patrick’s Day? There is so much beauty in nature that really can celebrate every small or big holidays of the year. So this week I am going to talk about the colour green and showcase some of my favorite photographs that I have taken that feature green. Did you know there are different shades of green in nature and they all have a meaning? Let me tell you about them. Follow me on a journey through a year of green.

Bright Green Meaning
Bright Green: Associated with rebirth, spring, and new beginnings. This is a green that is most commonly seen during the early births of Spring. The buds of the leaves just as they are about to bloom open on the trees. The grass still yellow but eventually it too will turn a light shade of green as it transitions into Spring. Spring is the birth of new beginnings, change, a new start. Spring has lots of meaning and lots of spiritual representation and Mother Nature in all her glory will never let us forget that. I personally always have a small love for Spring as I always feel rejoiced. I hope you feel rejoiced to.

Dark Green
Dark Green: Symbolizes fertility, growth, and the abundance of nature. We see, here in Canada, more of the dark green in mid to late summer season. This is when Mother Nature is at her fullest and normally, I find it is when the summer is at her hottest part of the season. It is normally in August and early September when I see the dark greens growing into the trees as the leaves begin to grow old and prepare for their colour change. I find a beauty in the dark green but I also find a little bit of sorrow. To me, the dark green means the end of summer and that autumn is on her way in. Summer doesn’t always seem to last so long here in Canada and I relish the few months we get of the warm weather. Some days I wish I lived somewhere warmer but then I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the other seasons in the year. I hope you enjoy the beauty of the dark green in the world as much as I do, even if for me it is a little bitter sweet.

Olive Green
Olive Green: Represents tranquility, earthiness, and elegance. I see the olive green all year round, even in the winter months. Olive green can be in Christmas. Olive green is in the trees of the forest, the blades of the grass beneath your feet, and in the blossoms of the newly budding flower. Olive green is anywhere and everywhere if you look hard enough. You just have to see the earthiness elegance of it. Green, olive or not, always gives me a tranquility to it. It comes after a fresh rainfall or on a misty dewy morning. There is always quiet, calm, and peace to the sense how nature reacts in these moments. Birds erupt into celebration after a thunderstorm or during a constant day of rain. It brings new life and the moisture that is needed to be celebrated. There is quiet in a dewy misty morning as the animals of the day begin to rise and those of the night begin to go to sleep. It is peaceful, olive green.

Why I Love Green
Now I think I told you in the three little fun facts on why I love the colour green. No it is not my favorite colour but it is up there in the top three. Purple being my first of all colours. Green has so many meanings in life from new birth to decay. Green in general: Green, being the color of nature, represents growth, harmony, fertility, and freshness. I feel revived, refreshed, rejoiced, when I start to begin to see the colour green. I always feel a sense of calm and peace in the forest when it is raining, when the sun begins to seep through the green leaves, and I feel tranquil with not just myself but with the nature around me. The most I felt completely calm, no worry in the world, just lost in the beauty of the nature is when I watch the Northern Lights. When Aurora is active in my area, and not this little green streak, I feel every worry fade away. There is a spiritual feeling when you get to watch the Aurora dance from horizon to horizon. I know what they mean when they say the spirits are in the Northern Lights. I sometimes feel like I can sense the spirits of the ancestors before me, no matter the origin. I never feel alone when the Aurora is out. So I know I have shared this photo before but I shall share it again as it resonates with me the strongest even a year a later from taking it. Without further adieu, I bid you goodnight with what I call The Spirits Came Out To Play.
