Remember Remember November

Good Day Everyone,

Apologies on the break between posts and the newsletters. It is not my intentions to have been absent in that time. Life had gotten busy but I was still out taking photos. I was busy working on the Calendar for 2026. You are now able to order these calendars in my shop and well in time before the new year.

So what have I been up to?

Well I been photographing the changing colours of the Autumn Season in Alberta.

Autumn in Alberta is a breathtaking season where the landscape transforms into a vibrant canvas of gold, red, and amber. The crisp, cool air carries the scent of fallen leaves and woodsmoke, inviting outdoor lovers to explore the province’s vast trails and parks. From the dramatic Rocky Mountains to the rolling foothills and expansive prairies, every corner of Alberta showcases unique fall colours and textures.

Photography opportunities abound during this time. Early morning light casts a warm glow on the changing foliage, while misty mornings add a layer of mystique to the scene. Farmyards and ranches become picturesque settings, with hay bales and barns framed by brilliant trees. Wildlife, from deer to elk, can often be seen preparing for the coming winter against these rich autumn backdrops.

Whether you’re capturing portraits with the season’s palette or seeking out the perfect landscape shot, autumn in Alberta offers endless inspiration for photographers and nature enthusiasts alike. The season’s fleeting beauty is a reminder to slow down and appreciate the simple, stunning moments that define Canadian fall.

Autumn at Elk Island

As the crisp air of autumn settles over Elk Island, the park transforms into a vibrant mosaic of colour. Golden aspens and fiery maples paint the landscape, creating a breathtaking backdrop for wildlife photography. Herds of bison graze peacefully beneath the warm hues of fall foliage, while elk and deer become more visible against the rustling grasses.

Early mornings bring a soft, golden light that filters through the trees, perfect for capturing intimate portraits of both animals and the serene environment. The calmness of the season invites visitors to explore winding trails with a camera in hand, offering countless opportunities to document nature’s seasonal change.

Whether you're drawn to the sprawling prairie vistas or the quiet forest corners, autumn at Elk Island is a photographer’s dream — showcasing the true beauty of Alberta’s wilderness in a rich, unforgettable season.
